History about the temple

Ajmer Jain Temple was built in the 19th century.  It was built by Soniji Ki Nasiyan.  The temple work was guided by the great scholar Pandit Sadasukhasji.  He was in Jaipur.  The temple is for Digambar Jains.  The temple is also called Siddhkoot Chaityalaya.  The temple is well known as ‘Red temple’ which was built by red sandstone.  Later the svarna nagri was built.  The Svarna Nagri is a museum which was built by the Soni family in Ajmer it was built in 1895 A.D.  The temple was also known as ‘Sone Ka Mandir’.  The temple color is golden.  In that temple there are many paintings, wooden figures that tell about Jain scriptures.  The temple was built on 10th October 1864.  Rishabhanatha idol was situated in the temple on 26 may 1865.

About the temple

The temple is situated in Ajmer, Rajasthan.  The main deity of the temple is Rishabhanatha the first tirthankar.  The gateway is built by redstone and the staircase is designed by marble.  In the walls of the main temple there are the images of 24 tirthankars.  There is an 82 feet manastambha which is built by R.B.Seth Sir Bhagchand Soni along with his sons.  They also situated the images of tirthankars.  The whole temple is built by the Soni family.  The library is also situated near the temple.  The library is built by R.B. Seth Sir Bhagchand Soni.  The library houses are used by scholars for researching Jain scriptures.  In 2005 idols of Tirthankara were installed. In that portion only Jains are allowed.

The temple is visited by India’s first president Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Indra Gandhi,  Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Morarji K.M.Kariappa and many more.

Festivals celebrated in the temple

A big festival is held in june for ten days and the main deity Rishabanatha is abhisheka by  milk, water, ghee and flowers.
